PARENT COUNCIL

We are very proud to have our own Parent Council here at Woodingdean Primary School. This is made up of dedicated parents who regularly meet to discuss issues about school life. If you have something that you feel needs raising at the Parent Council meetings then please talk to the parent representative from your child's class. Any parent can join the parent council.

Current Parent Council members are:

Tigers

Hi I'm Joanne and I'm the representative for the parent council.

Elephants

Giraffes

I'm Ali, my daughter is in this class. I chose to join the Parent Council because I wanted to get to know more people within the school community. It felt important to me to also understand more about school life and what goes on behind the scenes when arranging engaging learning activities for the children. Good relationships and communication between staff and parents is essential so I hope I can help facilitate that.

Giraffes

Hello I am Veronica, Sophie's mum. I wanted to join the Parent Council because I firmly believe that the success of our children comes from the school and parents working closely together.

Zebras

Hi, I'm Katie and the Parent Council representative in 1P. I have two children at the school.

Hummingbirds

My name is Daniel, I am the step-dad of Josie in Hummingbirds. This is my second year coming to parent council meetings, it's great to hear directly about the exciting things that are happening with the school and to be able to feed them back to other parents. I think it's great how the staff and parents have such a good relationship and I'm happy to feedback any thoughts you have to the council so please come and say hi during the morning drop-offs.

Leopards

My name is Celine and I am a parent of children in both Leopards and Bonobos. I am pleased to be part of the Parent Council, it is a great way to be involved with the school and get to know other parents.

Honeybees

Hi I'm Joanne and I'm the representative for the Parent Council.

Gorillas

Hello, I am Amy. I have two children in the school and I think it's such a wonderful school! My children have been councillor and vice councillor and my husband is a governor, so now it's my turn to contribute back to the school!

 Polar Bears

Hi, I'm Hazel and I am the representative for the Parent Council.

Polar Bears

Hi my name is Louise. I wanted to join the Parent Council so I could represent my son's class and to share the views of other parents in the class who may not have the opportunity during the working week to be actively involved in the school. As I own my own business I am fortunate enough to be somewhat flexible with my time and so I felt I was able to offer my help.

Orangutans

Sea Otters

I'm Alison and I represent Sea Otters class. I've been on the Parent Council for 2 years and I've enjoyed being the link between the school and the parents. I can be a voice for their concerns and also feed back information and exciting news from school, so everyone feels more connected.

White Tigers

Bonobos

My name is Celine and I am a parent of children in both Leopards and Bonobos. I am pleased to be part of the Parent Council, it is a great way to be involved with the school and get to know other parents.
