The Green Room

In September 2021 we opened our nurture space called The Green Room. It is led by Mrs Durant, our Inclusion Mentor who is always on hand with apples and Lego to support children who may be feeling anxious or overwhelmed. It is a safe space where children know that they can go and have someone to talk to who will hold space for them.

We also run groups which support children’s Social, Emotional and Mental Health such as Managing Anxiety and Social Skills. These groups are run by Mrs Marsh and are overseen by our Senco Ms Hawkins.

The Green Room offers an early breakfast club from 8.30 for children who struggle with the transition from home to school. Dobble, Exploding Kittens and Uno are favourite games to play in the mornings! The Green Room is open at break and lunchtimes too for children who need a quiet space to play or eat their lunch.

We are very lucky to have Ruddles the Cocker Spaniel come and visit The Green Room, only for a few hours once a week at the moment, but we are hoping this will build over time as he receives more training. All the children love to pop in and say ‘Hi’ to him. He is very appreciative of a stroke too!

The impact he has had on some of our children with additional needs and anxiety has been amazing.
